Holiday Home
Vacation in a Bohemian Monument
With its many stylishly furnished rooms, the two-storey half-timbered house offers a successful fusion of traditional living and modern comfort. The accommodation is spacious, has a large outdoor area with an old barn, so that there is enough space for a larger group.
1. Ground floor
Here is the vestibule, the lower living room, the kitchen, a bedroom, and a large bathroom.
Vestibule
You enter the house through a vaulted entrance hall, which has its own unique charm with antique furniture and original floor tiles.
Lower living room
This living room has a beautiful, old, beamed ceiling and is furnished with an extendable dining table, sofas, coffee table, armchairs, TV with DVD player and movies. The bed in front of the cosy wood stove can also be used to relax during the day. In the antique dresser you will find enough dishes.
Kitchen
The kitchen is fully equipped with an extra wide electric stove (ceramic hob and convection oven), large fridge-freezer, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, kettle. The antique cupboard contains the pots and pans, as well as other kitchen utensils for preparing food. If you want to try out how grandma used to cook, you can use an original wood-burning stove.
Bathroom
We have set up a modern bathroom in the former stable part of the house. Here you will find a ‘walk-in shower’, toilet, two sinks and dressing tables. In addition to the wall convector, the room can be heated with underfloor heating, a towel radiator, and an infrared heater. A flow heater ensures unlimited hot water. The use of the washing machine and tumble dryer are included in the rental price.
Lower bedroom
This romantic vaulted bedroom has furniture from the beginning of the last century: a wide double bed (200×200 cm) with bedside tables, a standing mirror, a valet, and an armchair. You will find the closet for your clothes in the vestibule.
2. Upper floor
On the upper floor are the reading vestibule, a second living room, three bedrooms, and a toilet in the ‘pavlač’.
Reading vestibule
A comfortable wooden staircase leads to the upper vestibule. The oil painting ‘Forest Road’ from 1934 by the Saxon landscape painter Rudolf Undeutsch hangs above the chest of drawers. You can dedicate yourself to reading: sitting or lying down on a huge Victorian sofa. A full bookcase is available.
Upper living room
Like its counterpart below, this original beamed room is equipped with an extendable dining table, sofas, coffee table, armchairs, and wood stove. A hand-knotted Persian carpet lies on the old floorboards. The display cabinet contains finds relating to the history of the house and the former Sudetenland. Board games can be found in the Art Deco room divider.
Large bedroom
This sleeping room is furnished with a complete set of bedroom furniture from 1936: wide double bed (200×200 cm), bedside tables, wardrobe, and mirrored dresser. A wood-burning stove provides cosy warmth on cold evenings.
Small bedroom
The elongated room has two single beds (100×200 cm), bedside tables and a wardrobe. Characteristic of this room are the wall mirror from around 1880 and the accompanying portraits from the early days of photography.
Farmers bedroom
Of all the bedrooms, this colourful room has the oldest furnishings, dating back to 1839. The peasant closet and dowry chest come from the region and were made shortly after the house was built. Here you sleep alone or as a couple in a ‘French double bed’ (140x200cm).
Toilet in the pavlač
In the pavlač – a kind of wooden balcony on the upper floor – a second toilet has been made, which can be used during the frost-free period.
3. The Old Barn
Behind the house is an old barn which sandstone part dates to 1776. There is a fully equipped summer kitchen that you can use during the warmer months. The large common room (40 m2) in the upper part of the barn is ideal for family celebrations and can be booked separately.
4. Outdoor area
A driveway that can be closed with a wrought iron gate leads to the area behind the house. The quiet courtyard is bordered by the old sandstone walls of the barn and outer cellar. An ideal place for outdoor dining and barbecuing when the weather is nice. And you can relax in a lounger under the canopy of an old, gnarled walnut tree.
